So yes, it’s not just a blood-pumping moment of hype, but these art pieces also add fantastic touches of character work to the memorable cast Yakuza and Like a Dragon has had over the years. He is one of the two protagonists of Yakuza 0 (along with Kazuma Kiryu), a major antagonist in Yakuza and its remake Yakuza Kiwami and a major supporting character for the rest of the series. Kotaku ran a feature around the release of Yakuza 0, delving into this and more around the imagery used for these tattoos.
